Transporting a vehicle can be complicated when you have to coordinate transportation to and from separate terminals or facilities. Door-to-door auto transport is designed to make the process more convenient by bringing pickup and delivery closer to your requested locations whenever safely and legally possible.
What Is Door-to-Door Auto Transport?
Door-to-door auto transport is a vehicle shipping service where the transportation provider coordinates pickup and delivery near the locations requested by the customer.
The exact location depends on whether the carrier can safely access the street or property.
Large vehicle carriers may not be able to enter narrow residential streets, areas with low clearance, restricted roads, or locations where parking is limited. In those situations, a nearby accessible location may be selected.
Why Do Customers Choose Door-to-Door Transport?
Convenience is one of the main reasons customers choose this service.
Instead of arranging separate transportation to take your vehicle to a distant terminal, you may be able to have the vehicle picked up near your home, workplace, dealership, or another suitable location.
The same principle applies to delivery.
This can save time and reduce the number of transportation arrangements you need to coordinate.
Who Can Benefit From This Service?
Door-to-door auto transport can be useful for many situations.
People relocating to another state may use the service to move their vehicle while they focus on other parts of their move.
Someone buying a vehicle from an out-of-state seller may also find door-to-door transportation convenient.
It can also help people sending vehicles to family members or moving vehicles for personal and business reasons.
Preparing for Pickup
Before pickup, make sure the vehicle is ready according to the transportation provider’s instructions.
Remove personal belongings, secure loose items, and make sure the vehicle information is accurate.
You should also check the pickup area to make sure the carrier can safely access it. If the street is too narrow or restricted, discuss an alternative location in advance.
